A few things I have learned

I was thinking today, or more fretting, about the relay. See, I'm a complete control freak, and this I can not control. I can not control the weather, or the course, or the pace. I can not control 9 other women, although if I thought I could, I might try:) I have no control. ALL I can do is show up and hope for the best. Which made me think....Why? am I fretting? At this point, it is what it is! That made me start thinking about all of the things I have learned or RElearned and the things I truly believe. Here are just a few:

1) Giving blood and then running the stairs at Red Rocks the next day, not a good idea.
2)Not everyone you encounter will believe that whatever you are doing is important. It doesn't matter.
3)You should never call something that is obviously important to someone else STUPID or DUMB.
4)Eating new foods, like say a nutragrain bar before a 12 mile run.... bad.
5)It is never wrong to invest time in someone else, even when there is no benefit to you in the end.
6)I believe in Jesus Christ, His love and His fairness and His will, But I also believe in KARMA and the knowledge that what goes around comes around in this lifetime. I prefer for it to being going and coming in positive ways.
7)Being at the top of a 10,000foot pass in a lightening storm, makes one run faster.
8)You can do absolutely anything you set your mind to, even something as crazy as running a 174 mile race in the mountains.
9)A really good sports bra (or 2) is totally underrated.
10)Even if you are the last person to cross the finish line, you still finished way ahead of those that didn't bother to start.
11)If you have NO control, there is no reason to stress.

So with 3 days to go, those are my thoughts tonight. We are all looking for good dry weather and safe travels. We are hoping for bright and cheerful moods and good humor. And we are praying for SPEED and Persistent, Mad, hill climbing skills:)

Your not really running if we can have an entire talk about the days events
We are even stronger than we thought because we are together
We are stronger all alone because we have each other.....
